Be fruitful & multiply was the first instruction given to Man.
How does one be fruitful & multiply?
In the physical shadow picture, you have kind reproducing after its kind. Man produces man, beast produces beast, fruit produces fruit, etc...
In the spiritual sense, we are to reproduce after the character of the Father, as demonstrated by Messiah Yeshua.
As the fruit of the spirit manifests in our lives, we can share this with those around us.
I want to make a connection to the greatest commandment, to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, as well as to love our neighbour as ourself. The connection is, loving God (with all out heart, soul, mind, and strength) and loving our neighbour is an expression of being fruitful & multiplying. It brings life.
How do we love God (with all out heart, soul, mind, and strength) and love our neighbour?
The 10 commands can be split into these categories of loving God, and loving our neighbour as so;
Love God
1) Have no other gods before me
2) Make no idols nor worship them
3) Do not take the Lord's name in vain
Love God & your Neighbour
4) Honour the Sabbath
Love your Neighbour
5) Honour your parents
6) Do not Murder
7) Do not commit adultery
8) Do not steal
9) Do not bear false witness
10) Do not covet
What I find most interesting about this is that the House of Judah express the biblical instructions of the Father as the 613.
This number traditional has been broken up into:
248 Do's - which correspond to the number of bones in your body
365 Do Not's - which correspond to ancient sun god worship
But the 10 commands can be separated into: (thus making the 613)
6 Love your neighbours
1 Love God and your neighbours
3 Love God
The connection all the way through is as follows;
To Be Fruitful & Multiply; which is
To Love God (with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength) and Love your neighbour; which is
To Follow the 10 Commandments; which is
To Follow the '613' biblical instructions from the Father.
The best rendering I have of this is Messiahs words when he shares in Matthew 5, You have heard it said 'Do not murder' but I say whoever hates his brother is guilty.
Is this a new instruction? or a new understanding?
What does it mean to 'Do not murder' with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength?
What does it mean to 'Do not murder' in a way that is to be fruitful & multiply?
If you consider 'Do not murder' with all your mind, means to not think about harming someone, then you can see how someone may become consumed with that hate.
Do not murder with all your strength, may be to restrain from physically harming them in anyway.
Do not murder with all your soul, may be not to delight in their misfortunes.
Do not murder with all your heart, may be to pray for them.
See the standard of how you judge will be how you are judged.
If you choose a tooth for a tooth, or an eye for an eye, it may be 'just' but you end up leaving both parties blind.
Not killing someone may be righteous, but is it a loving act?
Yeshua reveals the loving depth to the instruction. What brings life to this person?
On a more personal level, what brings life to the person wrestling with despise?
How about not consuming the mental brain power & time, which could be spent on other things.
